One by one we go through life,
searching for that one person
who we are meant to be.
Trials and tribulations,
shape us and make us
into what were supposed to be

Trying to be something were not.
Pretend to be people that we could never be.
Only to realize at the end of life,
what it is that we are really about.

Is it to late by then for us to turn things around?
Have we passed the point of no return?
How could it be so easy to get it wrong?
I wish I knew the ending to this sad song.

Why isnt it as simple as we think?
No simple formula for us to live by.
No keys to punch on a computer,
to tell us how to live our lives.

Only time will tell what will happen with us.
Determine our fate, all we can do is sit back and wait.
Just hold on for the ride, try and enjoy what comes our way.
Take the good with the bad, once and a while
maybe try and manage a small smile.

Why is it that this is so hard?
So hard to figure out ... who we are.
So hard to Understand ... what were worth.
Why is it so hard for us... to simply be us.
