You have no idea what it is to be in love with you,
It's so hard to pull away from your embrace,
Even when I know that you are doing wrong.
I leave and come back like a human yo-yo ,
A little farther, then back, then a little more,
But back again I always end up.
Just like the string you have me wrapped around your finger.
I do anything and everything you ask, in the name of love.
Some days I wonder why I stay around just to be hurt once more,
But when I think of the good times and that face ...
I end up where I was before, wrapped around your finger.
I forgive and forget the hurt you bring me,
It disappears after your smile like rain washing away chalk,
Gone without a trace.
You have no idea what I go through everyday,
Seeing you and loving you so much it hurts,
But feeling that you don't feel the same.
What can I do to make you love me as I do you?
Or am I just destined to be a toy you take on and off the shelf as you please ?
You have no idea how it feels to be stuck between two types of heartache,
To have to choose between bitter-sweet love and cold loneliness.
Some days I thank God for your smile and kind words ,
Others I just wish you would leave me because I don't have the will.
Your concoction has me addicted, like a fiend on the street,
Can't live with you, can't live without you.
You don't know how it is to be in love with you,
You have no idea.
