if i were a willow

you could sit in my shade
nap in my arms
listen to the breeze
whisper through my leaves
and watch my branches
dance for you

Something tells me that you are indeed, a willow!---and there is a gentle strength in both your subtleness and suppleness...

Have a happy Spring,
Warm hugs,

Very soft and if I may say so...inviting. Enjoyed this. Chris

Ah, the beauty of the willow.
Protecting and soothing, it is like poetry in motion, and you captured that so well, here.

Loved this,

(smiles) You truly are  awillow, as willows are very special trees that may have times when they weep, but when the spring comes they grow to be one of the gentlemen or belles of the spring ball! (big hugggsssssss) May true happiness always fill your heart, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet E.J, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

This poem reminds me so of the willow, supple and flowing but with an inner core of strength that aLlows for bending and not breaking.

The only thing that comes in
a close second to nature itself
is your poem. *s It's a keeper!

I have a special
place in my heart about willow
trees from happy childhood
memories of swinging on the
weeping willow branches in my
backyard. Hours and hours of
fun.

When you think you have heard it all,
listen more closely.

I have a willow outside that I planted. I am waiting for it to grow strong and enjoy its warmth of meaning and shade.

Oooh this is so soft and lovely...
why is this not a book submission?
Much enjoyed ...a keeper for my library.

Thank you all for your kind compliments!
This was inspired by the willow metaphor used by 1slick_lady.
There was also a large weeping willow in my back yard where I grew up.  I have memories of climbing such an accomodating tree, the summer shade, those wonderous swaying branches.  I miss that.
And about a book submission?
It would not be fair of me to submit something unless I were able to participate in the selection process fairly.  I simply do not have as many hours as that would take.  Perhaps another time . . .
(and thanks again,h)
