The dove, towing her wounded wing,
plummeted down onto the scorched earth
where soil mixes with snow;
White feathers soaked with blood
permeating the ground.
Near her, smoke lingers,
dilapidated walls, dead bodies
and shot marks everywhere,
the thin olive branch
is baked dry by remaining fires.
Weak and fatigued,
the dove moans her complaint
telling of humanity¡¯s
yearning for peace
through thousands of years.
Chilling wind wafts the
clamor for war,
drowning out anti-war voices.
Who will care for that wounded dove?
How will the wounds be cured?

(tears fall down my cheeks) Many of the recent world issues have upsetted me deeply, I feel the only solution to this problem is if our current leaders unviolently resign and be replaced with real "peacekeepers", I think Bush and Blair are perhaps just as much terrorists as those who caused terrorist attacks if they choose to go to war, for warping the law and killing thousands of civilians in the process is terrorism altogether also! (wipes tears) Finally I think, "Have we learned anything at all from history? Does history mean anything to us at all?" Apparently not with this ridiculous approach! (sad sigh) I am praying for the dove, and may the dove pray with us, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet You, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

I think the doves of peace have surrendered to the dogs of war, but you wrote this vividly and well.

Boy do I ditto Kethry's comment, but sure enjoyed the writing of this poem.  I am not familiar with your work and love how the "book" brings out the best work to read.  Enjoyed!

I would be impressed with this compassionate poem regardless... but knowing English is not your native tongue, it's particularly striking. *S* Well done!

You Wang Ge,

I'm impressed with this poem, especially since i'm a Chinese myself and realise how difficult it is to write in English as English and Mandarin are two very different languages...

good job and keep writing!

Gan De Hao don't know exactly what I said, but if kaile wrote it I'm assuming it's a thank you or a complement.

In agreement here, this dove shall be sheltered in blue, in my favorites file, and hopefully it will also find a safe resting place in Reflections book.
