A Don't Pity Me Talk

As I climb up the down side
each and every day,
disappearing rungs follow me
leaving me in front but behind
what needs to be done.

~~*~~
I saw a jet flying towards the moon
and another crossing its path.
I stopped to watch the vapor
in twin streams, wondering  just how close
they seemed to one another.

~~*~~
Sun was shining and the brisk air
felt so good that I ignored those passing by
and decided to trim the edges of my gardens
while I waited for the cost of car repairs.
I can't be still while I am in the worry mode.
And it's been that kind of week.

~~*~~
Here it is another Friday and I'm all alone,
trying to decide if I should go to the movies,
buy a movie or watch Gone with the Wind
and cry along with it.

~~*~~
Daylight's getting longer, my clock is running faster
and I'm reaching for the moon, the one I saw today
hanging in the bluest sky, the only thing
that made me smile today.

~~*~~
M

Just keep focusing on the positive...I know it's hard, but don't ever let it go. Smiles for you.

This week has been a real stinker.
But good to see you're writing about yours.
Words are not easy here, can't see the page very well and I need waterproof ink . . .

You tell us of your stories
filled with woe and glories
I enjoy with searching care
The wisdom I find there.

Thank, M, you are always a pleasure to read.  Ken

Elizabeth, I am really a very positive person,
believe me or I would have gone "nuts" ages ago.
*s Thank you for your caring comments.

Hey C, just waiting around for "something" "anything"
frig broke down,  car won't start.
I am just waiting for the next "happening"
actually it was very nice out today
and only remnants of that snow blizzard
are left hiding beneath the bushes.
I felt energized and when I tired
I just looked up and  viewed that
beautiful moon in the day sky.
*s  hugsss back

Krawdad, well I have had my share of ink running
anytime you need a shoulder, mine is available.
It becomes wider every day.

Ken it's always sweet
how your reply in rhyme.

enjoyed it this time.

Hey ya Maureen. From across the miles, I am sitting here all alone too. So, I guess we are in the same boat.

Maureen, don't be silly. Rent a comedy and laugh along with it. If you have a choice, always choose laughter over tears. You're too positive a person to take the sad way out.

Maureen,

I liked this a lot. You certainly have a way of capturing what's happening to you in a most understandable, shake my head, yes, I can relate to that.
Lots of talent.

Enjoyed, Pat

keep climing UP the "down side"

liked this and that the rungs are vanishing as you climb.  it means you won't be returning.

good one.

thanks

(happy sun filled weekend for you)

I would go out to a movie because I like being around lots of people...and yet sometimes I want to be alone...or just watch a movie with one special person...what did you decide...james

You may be a positive person, Maureen, but on the inside of your mind, there are thoughts and feelings of loneliness, as these words portend.

I am lonely, Opeth. It isn't easy being me.

And when you are my age and all of your life you have had either family or a husband/wife to share life with, there are many moments when loneliness will take over and not allow you to feel alive.

This is one of those days when one word can undo every good feeling I have about myself, life and the world as a whole, and can take away from me, all I have gained.

And when others use cliches and tell you that no one can make you feel that way, that only you can do that...they are wrong, because we are only human and are only so strong on the outside and when you are bombarded with the negative, eventually you break down.

Thank you for your response and for those above yours.

M

**I was really trying to talk myself out of
being depressed but I guess it didn't come across that way.

Well, if I were where you are at, I'd come visit you on occasion and help reduce those feelings of loneliness that you have.
