There was, there is…

This feeling once there, once lost
came back to me all over again
when we met the other day

Your smile,
and sparkle of your eyes
exude the warmth
of rays of light

Our gaze met,
~an unspoken understanding
that we were somehow still connected

I inhaled air that felt so familiar, yet so refreshing
It suddenly dawned on me
how I’ve been living in the hope of
You
