Posted this... and then couldn't remember if it had ever been posted or not... it is an old one..quite old... slightly edited. If it is a repost..my apologies... I simply don't remember.

’73 found me 17 and in its autumn
wrapped a son in fall bright faded
to change one childhood for another
not quite so lucky and chance a meeting
with her.

“Dishwater”
I would say if asked her hair
That fell mid shoulder
And such a contrast to
The others red
I married.

We’d lost each our own
Before our joining
And the backseat affairs
From years before
Still smelled of musk
When she was close
Driving sense of lost
Tangles we shared.

A smile
All knowing the tremble
Felt in me
Was her greet

A hug
Mine
That lasted one second beyond

A chance
But ’73 rode hard to winter
Still chilled from Nam and Nixon
Turning me home
Before the roads
got icy
And she thawed again
My heart.

THE GARDEN

by: Ezra Pound (1885-1972)

IKE a skein of loose silk blown against a wall
She walks by the railing of a path in Kensington Gardens,
And she is dying piece-meal
of a sort of emotional anemia.

And round about there is a rabble
Of the filthy, sturdy, unkillable infants of the very poor.
They shall inherit the earth.

In her is the end of breeding.
Her boredom is exquisite and excessive.

She would like some one to speak to her,
And is almost afraid that I
will commit that indiscretion.

If you can be thawed once, you can be again. This has such a feeling of 'realness' about it. I can't explain how it makes me feel..as though these two people live down the street from me and though I don't see it, they share something deep and special. I really like this Ron.

(big hugggssssssss) Oh Ron, this is a marvelous vintage print, sweet friend, I find it intriguing how this poem has the semblance as your Lacey series did with Ezra Pound excerpts tied in to the conclusions, I love this, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Ron, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

Loved the style of this, the rythm of words disjointed but not..I'm sorry not making much sense so I'll leave it at that..

For several reasons, had I read this
before,
I would have remembered, and I don't
remember, and I am not claiming
Alzheimers...
because anyone would remember
a touch
like this...

Bravo, Sir...bravo....

So real!  Timings and temptations.

Enjoyed this as I do all of your poetry. It touches, it teaches, and always it thrills the senses, one way or another.
