In the cries of an infant,
no louder than any others,
in schooling finding you
no more special than anyone else,
yet the storm was brewing.

A waiting sense prevailed
that your soul mate was coming,
that they would fire up your drives.
An ordinary soul just needing an excuse,
as the thundering inside started to rumble.

In private thoughts,
years of frustrations
of paper napkins collecting dust,
stored in a tool box telling their stories,
static charges awaiting release.

On an Internet day
the dam-age was done
but before those thoughts
could be organized,
the torrential rain flooded the mind.

Once let loose the raging waters
let the flood gates open in
frustration releases of whirling matter,
in cyclones of meanings
which built up in strength.

So in nature’s beauty,
you gain your serenity.
But the stillness is not in your vocabulary
for in sleepless nights
thoughts have to be written down
or forever lost to new ones.

Using a computer as your new toolbox,
you have more thing processing
than one mind can handle
and your spell checker is on overload.
Things if not completed soon,
stored in huge trash collection files
to be shifted through in mind lapses.

So you then get sideswiped by a City Council
setting community standards.
Overload, tilt, burn out, computer glitch,
a new computer virus has hit the mind,
in an artist seeing free expression as gift,
given by a power above him,
in an unregulated storm of brain washing.

So alone you face your world,
with a cat on your lap that loves you.
With a computer screen that absorbs you
hoping that maybe someday
you may be understood
before something crashes
into your own hard drive
silencing it forever.

Thought: Will someone ever make it as a poet and thinker, chances are the winds will be blowing in another direction, but your whispers may make it seek out the hidden echoes, for in your heart of understanding things will always change.

(sigh) I too have had some previous poems lost before and I could never recover them, just as I know the feeling of trying to captivate a thought before it is modified by many more! (big hugggssssss) This is so well-stated, sweet friend, I love this, you have my storming vote, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet David, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton
