Sirens
By: Noah Eaton
3/4/03

Crawled through the mud on my hands and feet
How long have I been here, when will I be free?
Janus has a tempest, at sunset I see her bleed
Let there be light, I beg you please
Stop this ship, so I may hear your voice
I wish I could leave, but I have no choice
Take a closer look through the tanglewood
One betel palm is leaning like brotherhood
Whispering...

           C

                                   y

                               o
                                  u

               e
                   ?

Lashed my body to the mast
Never thought that this would pass
Dancing in seas of murano glass
Glazed my eyes in gouache
The ozone in the sky is repleting
Solstice is pierced, my comrades cowering
Should I go to this homecoming?
Or should I wait ten years for the reunion party?

           C

Or could it be I've been here all along?
Could it be I've been here all along?
Could it be I've been here all along...

Bind me with these ropes, I pray
Good God, cast that light upon the bay
These things I see you will never see
Even when a pirate may look at forty
Re-writing latitudes and disregarding longitudes
The Cumberland and the Merrimac now just novelties
Now I see the lights flash all around
Blue and red, without a sound...

           C

               a

                               o
                                  u

So I signal the flare and scream...

    Take me...

                             ...home

           Where I belong...

    Take me...

                             ...home

           Where I belong...

    Take me...

    Take me...

           Where I belong...

aaah this is incredible. You always paint such beautiful pictures with your words!
That 3rd graphic reminds me of a childhood story my mom used to read to me..."Wynken, Blynk and Nod"
Thanks for sharing that Noah!!
