Balladeer and Toerag took a road trip in a car.
The weather took a turn, so they didn't get too far.
They pulled up to a farm house seeking shelter from the snow.
The lady offered them the barn, 'cause townfolk gossip don't you know.

The weather cleared the next morn and they were on their way.
'Deer got a letter from a lawyer nine months later, to the day.
'Deer asked Toe, you remember the farm house where we stayed?
Toerag admitted, yes he did, then laughed about the trick he'd played.

Seems Toe had gone a sneaking to that lady late that night.
Had told her that his name was Balladeer and shared in her delights.
After the telling 'Deer just smiled, and said "No, I'm not mad".
Seems the lonely lady died last week, and left me all she had.

Remember me with a smile on your face, or please don't remember me at all.

I recieved this one, recently, through e-mail, with different subjects, but it was fun reading it with Deer and Toe in tow. So are you the one that started the original?

Poor Toe... He only withheld his name so my feelings wouldn't be hurt... and here you go and tattle on him anyway AND Bal reaps the lady's legacy!!! Where's the fairness? LOL

Great job, Lucie... I thoroughly enjoyed! *S* (And the lady obviously did, too! *EG*)

AHA! This explains everything! Along with her check I got this letter that I never fully understood...

Dear Balladeer,

You have been on my mind ever since that night we spent together. Please take this money for that penile implant you so desperately need. You touched my heart with your sad story of your incapability of sexual functioning for the past 14 years and I appreciated how hard you tried even if it did end in failure. I have seen how so many people on your poetry site love you and I want to help you in some way to experience what normal men are able to achieve.

Very sincerely yours,
Ida Dunit

Thank you, Lucie, for straightening this out!!

Funny, funny, write...
And,of course, Balladeer, in his own way adds to the telling.
