Between the Lines

Again

Questions are all I seem to have.
No answers to any or all.
Each day I awake thinking positive,
then the word comes to make my mood fall.

He's too young to be needing more prayers like this,
been through enough, our dear friend.
It's grown again, sized the same as before.
Our hopes have been shadowed again.

A seizure, attacked when we thought he looked good.
Radiation, thought helping, now finds,
he's too young to be needing more prayers like this
and no words in my mind can unwind.

So smart, good looking, the sweetest of man
still single and charming, his way.
He's too young to be needing more prayers like this,
as I go to his aid on this day.

I feel for him, as if he were mine,
a friend, the age of a son.
And I long for his cure, to relieve all his pain,
I wish and I pray it be done.

"Love is not blind - It sees more and not less, but because it sees more, it is willing to see less."

You have added to the prayers for him by writing this plaintive plea for his recovery.
I am sure that most of the readers of such impassioned poetry will offer up prayers for him as well...........I just did.

so sad, and your prayers are so beautiful. My best to your friend in a fine recovery, with people like you to look out for him, he's got the best of care.
Peace

Maureen, this is so well written! I love the repetition, it lends force and pathos to the poem. Well done indeed!
