right and wrong breed trouble
and air empty of your voice
stings with the force of a hammer
hitting the top of a pin
balanced on concrete.
People worry when I get sad,
but they shouldn't.
After all
what use have I for a blade
when your silence
and the sound of you turning your back to me
are enough to carve rivers of doubt
in the flesh of hope?

SARCASM BREEDS A BROKEN HEART, and I  have enough cracks. Please stop breaking me!

This is so heart wrenching. I rather have someone yell at me its the silence that kills because usually silence means they don't care anymore.

Perhaps, in stepping out of the circle, we find what makes it go around, so that it stops.

Thank you.

This is incredible. One of the most powerful images I've read in a while. It's really superb.

So sad, but so real. I could literally feel the emotions in this one. You are very good at putting your true feelings on paper.

Heart Hugs,

How can we know the warmth of acceptance if we never experience rejection or the joy of love if we never felt heartbreak? One can only hope that the balance tips in favor of love and acceptance... beautifully expressed emotions in this poem though they be sad ones

powerful insight into the sharp edges of silence.. very well done...

leaves the reader bleeding as they remember their own experiences...

The words speak power and pain
like poems themselves
smoking in circles
and circles and circles and circles.

(big huggssssssss) I too would take the verbal sledgehammer over the silence myself, at least in silence you know one is listening and is there, but in silence it's a ghost town! (sad sigh) I send angel hugs your way, sweet friend, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, swet Jennifer, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton
