The rough waves of pristine water
Silence of the raging storm
Center of a cyclonic universe
The inner tranquility to carry on

Life’s endless trials
Live many trails
Each path having it own rough terrain
Every obstacle its own lesson

Yet some challenges may have to wait
For the tools within the mind
Have not developed yet
For brute strength will never be enough

Then there comes the time to move forward
In the pain of living your life
For the weight of others
Have put a burden on your dreams
Now their doubts and criticism
Overshadow your zeal
Casting too much gloom to bear

So you flounder, sink and rise
To get to the other side
In everything that says no
You do not have the strength to make it
A prayer from inside
Will fight its lonely song

In echoes behind you laughing
Saying you are stupid to try
But going back, would say they won
So you will put your life on a limb
That broke the bond
And float with it against all odds

On the faith of other dreamers
The lanterns of the faithful
Will line the shores
As if it was a lighthouse
Awaiting its sailor home

The Lord said, “believe in Me for I am your savior” and in tears running down my face I replied, “My hidden faith in you will propel me forward.” I must believe there is a purpose for my words! I just had a bad day!

Quite honest farce of often unspoken truths about ourselves, and relationships with others. Deep thinking compadre.

Heart hugs to you Dave. You simply cannot give like you do through your wonderful poetry and not receive back.
And, Joyce is right, of course.
In His own time is the key.

Thanks for sharing, Pat

Friend, you do speak truth in your poetry. Always like to read your work, even if I don't reply every time. Sometimes I just don't know what to say.
Hugs,
Ethel
