Softly, hesitantly..
Each step taken into the unknown of
what will become today...Treading gingerly
...through life...
toward the darkness...
at light’s edge...

Still is the air of sound, void of life
but for the gentle fall of a
shimmering tear...

Shuddering...
each breath clouding, hanging,
disappearing into the light of a
street lamp...until the next
labors and a heart races..

Alone, into the valley of fear,
crossing the arid plain of
desolate thoughts...

Softly...lightly...as water fills
the mirage of doubt before
the moon howls...

Barry,

I missed you, too! This is wonderful.

I especially like:

"Toward the darkness
at light's edge"

and...

"Still is the air of sound,
void of life"

Very touched.  Enjoyed, Hugs,  Pat

Softly, hesitantly

Oh Barry your poetry is a soft voice
and a gentle keep.

I don't know what to say, this touches the lights edge and brings it around.

Still is the air of sound, void of life
but for the gentle fall of a
shimmering tear...

Oh me!
