Written for two very special people renewing their vows after 50 years of marriage this Sunday. They are still just as much in love today as the day they met they say, and they grow the most beautiful roses in their gardens, so this is what I came up with to go with my little gift. 50 people will be presenting them with 50 red roses, cool huh?

~* Your Love I Liken To A Rose *~

Play I Will Always Love You Song

I think to say I love you
and swear tender wedding vows again after 50 years,
says something of a love I wish today to
liken to that of one beautiful, single rose.

As the spring of marriage blooms new,
one beautiful perfect rose stands tall,
while tiny imperfections and buds appear
for the first time.

This frail, tender stalk needs constant tending
as tiny tendrils appear trying to find their path.
New and stronger branches twist and turn
giving support and strength of the coming seasons.

Weeds find their way to inhibit new growth,
and the beauty of some buds wither and die.
The rose, still strongly rooted in its foundation,
struggles to maintain it unity and beauty
in this division of perfection.

Falls and winters come and go and take their toll,
as yet this hardy rose will stand.
As each spring reappears the single rose is
stronger for having endured hardships,
and each test of time that threatened
its very existence.

A good marriage strong and beautiful
is like this one beautiful tender rose.
As its new cycle begins, renewed,
the emerald and ruby reappears, and once again,
the rose stands more beautiful than ever before.

~*~ Jessie and Ralph ~*~

Happy 50th Anniversary
and
Congratulations
On Renewing Your Marriage Vows

May my single rose always remind you of your love for each other and your lovely rose gardens.

Love,
  Sharon
