I watched,
As in your daily form
You walked before me
To do those things
I know nothing about
Going to places
I only imagined.

The twinge
The one that twists
In stomach turned regretful
Again grabbed me
As I dreamed of what
Never was
Or would be

In need
I must now find
A new route
And not see again
Someone else in you.
Not feel
The void

Still…
I watch knowing
You are not her
And wishing you were
Yet relieved you are not.

So good to read you, again Ron.  Your writing always finds a part of me it recognizes.

Cpat--Sometimes the shadow of another falls across the present and warps perception.  I know this feeling.  I like the way you write!

Being torn between what we want is hard. You penned it well.
