I fell asleep beneath velvet skies
and soft lullabies
drifting upon waves of your heart

Winds of tender devotion
and a moonlight potion
quenching my thirst for love

I fell asleep in the cradle of your arms
with ribbons of stars in my hair

I fell asleep upon a raft of love
my heart drowning
in a cove of make believe

Seagull winds of pretend
and a mirage of moonlight
I fell asleep and you were gone
like the mist of a tear
upon my windowpane

I hear your soft whispers
within seashells of yesterday

will never betray."

Yesterdays whispers are todays words - and today's words are tomorrows dreams...especially when experienced through a seashell.

Wonderful.

Victoria,

This is perfectly lovely.  I love the sensual imagery, as it gives this poem not only beauty, but a kind of peace as well.

Vic, I swear I love this one even more than the others. (I say that a lot, I know) It is so beautiful, though.

Your husband is such a lucky guy to have such a romantic wife, Victoria...I am assuming that this is about him....
Its too bad he doesn't appreciate poetry more.

I fell asleep in the cradle of your arms
with ribbons of stars in my hair

This is absolutely gorgeous, first rate poetry.
