Scarred Land, Sacred Land

Like a brand upon the land
Skeletons have passed to dust
Westward ho or see me bust
Like a brand upon the land

Eagle’s feathered wing of flight
Sees the past in day’s white light
Scars that hug the ground so tight
Eagle’s feathered wing of flight

Take the turn? Or straight ahead
See the curve of lives that burned
See the mark of those that turned…
Take the turn? No, straight ahead

Chisholm trail, I’m westward bound,
Seen the elephant and he wound
My courage stronger, love this ground!
Chisholm trail, I’m westward bound.

Karilea; The art helps to picture the marks of the wagon wheels as the wagon trains went west.  I love reading about those days. Very well written.  Wanda

WOW!!! I agree with Susan, this too reminded me of the Jubilee Trail, for I also have been fortunate enough to read that story of pilgrimage and the pursuit of answers to life! (kiss on cheek) I love it, sweet friend, this is fabulous, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Karilea, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
