standing on a shadow's lace

you say there is nothing
you can say to ease my pain
but don’t you know our blood
flows from the same vein
when I was empty
you came and filled me up
replacing the chipped
with a loving cup
showed me I was deserving
with your time to spend
a heart that you convinced me
was well worth the mend
you were a sweet beacon
to a drowning soul
and told me that forever
was something I could hold
when I wanted to lay down
and let my faith fly away
you showed me hope
a belief that it could stay
so much of my pain
you have alone freed
you are my echo
the echo of my need

"Pour yourself thick, when it is you, that you spread."

Good to have a matching bloodtype handy when you need a transfusion.
And of course you tell the story well.
