Pathway Across

There is on the other side
Fountains of youth and beauty
Children laughing by the hillside
Flowers so rich of bloom are plenty

I want to cross that river
But the cascade runs furiously
All I can do is hope with a tear
I fear my past so grim with misery

I stare at a smile so rich and rare
Wanting comfort in arms I treasure
Impulses from within my heart screaming
To be touched, to be loved sleeping

The seasons come and the rainbows disappear
I wait for the torrent to slow so I can cross
On slippery stones as I fall cleansing my fear
If I reach the other side will you be there

For me
Will you be there to soothe me
Will I be able to dream of love
For I have never before seen so much
Will the river slow and allow the reed
To release the flower you are
Into my heart

Respond to my call and let the waves of my heart fill your life with the wonders of love
(Daniel J D)

I liked those lines especially,
and enjoyed your poem very much.
