The Mist of Love

They’re phantoms of exotic flight
Candles glittering in the night
Shadows on the walls of life
Shadows that are like a wife

They glow in green in flowered fields
Like poppies of exotic yields
Dance in shadows of your mind
Some are clear and some confined.

They haunt you that are all you know
They fill your bag of freedoms sew.
Tip the scales of justice lie
Flutter like a butterfly.

They fly within a sky of blue
In tandem with the real of you
You cannot help the love you feel
Although you feel a thief and steal

But who can thieve the mist of love
Unless it be the turtledove

Tell Randy that I am making a list ...
one of rhyme scheme dreams and gleams of gist.
Of all the things to hold in heart and of fervored fist ...
the things one needs to assist in a mind's fantasy exist.

Tell him to meet me in the morn's misty mist ...
where the horizon waits for the dawn's daily kiss.
I'll bring the things that takes reality on a twist ...
all the dreams we thought we had dismissed or missed.

Tell him upon this tryst I do insist ...
I will persist should he try to resist.
