A Question Left Unasked

What would happen
if I’d the courage to ask
To take a knife and cut
those words, hanging tensely above
Left breathless, barely able to talk

Do you think we could
really just laugh it off
Be left to cast a casual glance
and carry on in rhyme
That question left unasked

To let apprehension
claim the consciousness
Set souls aflame
with forbidden desire
As passion envelops the moment

Naught else to do but grab
the carnality of a timeless instant
To embrace our essence
take hold, and run fallaciously
Beyond our abandon

We are all just prisoners here of our own device ~ Hotel California, The Eagles

Eagle

A question you answer with a wonderful sense of words

"Naught else to do but grab
the carnality of a timeless instant
To embrace our essence
take hold, and run fallaciously
Beyond our abandon"

Loved it!

I especially enjoyed those lines.

will only cloud our vision
and fester in our mind.

Dee ~ That is true I guess, but… as always my friend, I thank you, take care!

Kethry ~  thank you, appreciate your comments.

Martie ~ Thanks for stoping by, good to know you enjoyed.

Nancy ~ as is so often the case we have the answers within us. I guess the trick is knowing that is so, and in having the courage to take that first step, thanks.

BluesSerenade  ~ I try to!

Noah ~ always a pleasure to have you stop by.

Janet ~ Fate and destiny always seem to involve  flame and intense feelings don’t they? I’m glad you liked this one, take care!

P.S.  I guess I should be careful running fallaciously through the forums, I don’t want to start a fad or something.. hmmm … could be fun though!

Sherry ~ yeah ya do don’t you, I think perhaps I snooze too much..
