Enclosed behind these walls
a fortress built around my passion,
keeping me safe from a general
and his army of words.
The very foundation
my enchanted castle
of hopes and dreams was built upon.
Allowing myself to be captured
I am now set free.
For there is a moat
circling around me
to the other side
I've swam,
and will stay.
Safe in my watch tower
no longer a damsel in distress
nor a pawn in the game.
Protecting myself from loves harm
raising my flag
I surrender~
but I will never forget.
And I pray for a knight
who will not tear me down
but come quietly,
and move me once again
to higher ground.

Very well done Lori! I loved this...you go Girl!! Yep, those battles are hard won, but when victory over those enemies comes, it is a very sweet one indeed. Loved the way you did this! Have a Happy Easter!

I love the sentiment here, Lori...as well as the beautifully written words...

One piece of advice though, the knight always shows up when you're not looking for him.....so stop looking and maybe he will show up.     ~hugs~

You can write with the best of 'em, Lor.
I worry about you, and your happiness.  Take good care,
and keep writing these Primo efforts!

Victoria~  Thanks for your nice reply,
you're sweet!  *huggers*

Dulci dear~ I appreciate your nice comments and the fact that you even read me at all.  You're a special lady, and I am sure you don't need me to tell you so.

Amy~ Thank you for your wishes and liking what I wrote.  There are times I work way too hard at what I write, and other times they just write themselves.
Take care of you, and Happy Easter.

Lyra~ You speak so dearly to my heart.
You're right about things happening
when we aren't looking for them.
YOu sound like me telling you to get rid
of that magic potion in a bottle.
Love and hugs~

Jeff~ Thank you for your friendship!

(sigh) I understand how you feel here, sweet friend, such sentiments shine from your words and I am so proud you had the courage to surrender and raise your flags, but I know deep down with all my heart there is a knight who is worthy of your heart and he will offer you true love with heart and compassion! (big hugggsssssss) Your talent always shines in your words, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Lori, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Walls around the heart...well done, how you showed us your place of safety.  I hope your knight remembers the right word that cracks the wall..."love". I enjoy your writing.

Lori,
You did that so dang well I can't even argue your position! Instead, I wish for you a knight not only in shining armor but one that has a huge estate. Nicely said.

Martie~ I got lost in my replies, I'm sorry. Thank you so much for reading.  Love is all it takes when it is true without putting on pretenses.  It's nice to see your name here.
Happy Easter to you and yours~
