Where crystalline bright waters pool
an angler in his evening-wear
of hip boots strips line from a spool,
an offering's cast to the air.

Through graceful arcs devotion shows
a ritual of pious rights
'gainst silouette of bank willows,
in spirit world his fly alights.

To dimple surface tension there
above a riffle in a stream
a link of current and of air,
which joins two creatures in one dream.

In balance each does give and take
where two were once joined in the flow
are memories left in the wake,
there are for both once they let go.

(smiles) YAY!!! I too envisioning you fishing by the shore, sweet friend, it made me smile just imagining you casting your line and dragging it back in in the light spring breeze! (big hugggssssss) We all love you so much, sweet friend, this is lovely! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet William, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

I fell for this, hook, line and sinker!! Lol. Great write, and I love the title too, it is so fitting to the poem.

If she who dies with the most toys wins, then can I have some toy boys please?

Norman Maclean couldn't have said it any better!!!  Good job!!     BTW, my eight-year-old loved it, too!  He sat on my lap and read it with me...he wants to go fishing now!!

Martie,
Thanks so much. My current schedule doesn't allow much time for anything ( much less fishing ) but that doesn't mean I've forgotten how much it ( like writing ) means to me.
Doc
Floria,
Thank you. I'm afraid those lines are as close as I'll get to the water for a while yet, but I'm certainly glad you enjoyed them.
Doc
Seymour,
Your comments to Ivy Rose seem to have lost their way my friend, but thanks for dropping by anyway.
Doc
Noah,
Thanks. A remembrance of tranquility. Glad you enjoyed.

amusemi,
Thank you my friend ( and your eight year old too ). An appreciation of the outdoors is a precious thing. Good luck .
