I wear faintly the bare essence of you
sachet memories of eyes sapphire blue
upon my satin pillow in the night
floating aimlessly like a willowy kite
whispers bathe upon my earlobe
whispering passion beneath moonlight's globe
I feel your fingers in tassels of hair
the shadow of you still scenting the air
I taste sweetly your kiss upon my lips
your kiss still blooming like violet tulips
my love still haunting the tears in my eyes
still teasing upon the shores of good bye
hid within eternal yesterdays sighs
the question still lingers, the question why?

"If music be the food of love, play on."  (William Shakespeare)

Very lovely, Victoria.  Yes, and also sad.  *hugs*

Stars will shine when I am gone
Earth will spin on as before
Gulls still race along the shore
Morning star, still kiss the dawn

no answer for 'why's',
no lace tissue
for soul-stealing cries
follow your own devotion
lead from a path of emotion
for if you cannot forget
a thing your soul won't let
then surely spirit-fed kisses
are a heart's lavender lotion

Never a disappointment, reading you is one of my greatest pleasures!

I felt the bittersweetness in this poem of yours. I also read them with a quiet acceptance of better days gone by.

Hugs to you Victoria~

Beautiful, you know I relate.
This part especially
"my love still haunting the tears in my eyes
still teasing upon the shores of good bye
hid within eternal yesterdays sighs
the question still lingers, the question why?"
