On Over Used Strings I had stopped writing Heart on silent pause Wings are in a closet You know the cause Feelings are still here My heart minus wings I have lost the words On over used strings Packed away wings Heart lost the nerve Having been hushed I will quietly observe No more circulating Wings lay on a shelf A sparkle had gone I’m blaming myself In melancholy mood Wings gathering dust Awaiting for positive Or someone to trust Hope © 2002 |

  (sigh) Oh Hope, this is both a sad and beautiful poem, sweet friend, I believe we all have times where our wings are soiled, but just loving ourselves and showing a smile will always brighten our wings aagin and help us fly once more!
