I often go back and read
some of the first things I ever wrote
and am left wondering as to
who this person is that I have come to be

My writing has become a vehicle
through which I am able
to vent my feelings
and expose my soul

You the reader have seen
through to my inner soul
a place that I have kept hidden
for so very long and a
place that I am still reluctant
to reveal to some

When I reminisce way back
to my early beginnings of writing
I find it hard to believe that I
have written so many words
about so many things
using my pen as my mouthpiece
and my words as the
window to my heart

I find comfort as I am
surrounded by these four blue walls
of passion and love
Poetry is the food source for my soul
and I savour everything I read
being careful not to spill
one single drop

How ironic it is that
I nearly failed English
in high school and yet
my writing seems to flow
so freely from the core of my heart

The only thing I regret
is that my father was unable
to see me as a writer
and share in the joy it
has brought to my life
but I take great comfort
in knowing that it was
through my love for him
that made me write
in the first place

I strongly believe that as long
as I hold my love for him
deep inside my heart then
my pen will never be void of ink

Very open and forthright Sue. Who says he doesn't know??? In any case - he would have been, and may just be, immensely proud.

(smiles) Awwwwwww, this is sooooooo beautiful, sweet friend, you have become the loving person you were born to be and your father will always be so proud of you, for he wished to share with you his legacy of love for you to cherish always in the beautiful words you write and he is so happy you are sharing your words of love to the world as he knew you would! No Sue....NO...it never will be void of ink.
For your passion for your father...as his
daughter, he as your mentor...will carry
you till your last breath...when you and he
are once together...and he reads your
beautiful poetry....
