I Am Man

I Believe in God, in all His wonder
His essence, His presence in our lives,
yet I question His existence, His reality.

I Believe in "…doing unto others…"
in being bigger than life,
in being the shoulder for tears,
the arms of comfort,
the heart that lifts the lives of others;
yet I am guilty of transgressions upon these beliefs.

I Love, as an absolute, All things,
gently, passionately…explosively,
yet I profess an expansive distaste for much,
and have walked away when needed.

I Believe so much, in graciousness, morality, Godliness,
but have failed to live in the fullness of my beliefs.

I am man.  I feverently Believe far more
than I have been able to live,
far more than I am able to give,
far more…than who I am.

I am man,
whoever that may be…
just me.

Jimmy

Such an honest look at the big things we all wish to be.  I sure fall short.  Thanks for this.

Jimmy,  I have no doubt that this poem comes
from you, from within your soul and gut...
and with so much honesty and humility...

Jimmy this comes from deep down inside your soul. I could feel it. Yes you are man, God created, and this is a most wonderful expression of the perfect job that He did on creating you. He has given you a tremendous soul..floria

jwesley...I think were singing the same tune.  I may be a woman but I am guilty of not living up to the standard of faith in which I believe.  I love the honesty in this poem. The only righteousness God sees is the righteouness of Christ. When I put on Christ...God only sees Him. I have felt that I have not met my potential in God.  Yes, like you, I am giving and loving, passionate, but I still fall short in my own righteousness.  **Ivy Rose

Sy - thank you very much.

Martie - I try to be honest as I'm sure we all do, but…sometimes.

SEA - Thank you for seeing some honesty in me…I know it's hard sometimes,
and yes, I think we can all relate.

hoot_owl - Hear, hear!

Moon - Yes you are my friend, and I never doubted it for a minute…either statement.

Zinsser - Thank you.

Interloper - Golly Gee Whiz - I love it when you talk like that!
Thank you much my friend - I'm honored.

Temptress - Yep to all you said my friend…I mucho agree.

ThisDiamond - I appreciate it much.

Enchantress - And hugs to you Nancy…thanks for your wonderful words.

Mangus - Very glad you liked it Mangus - kinda thought you'd understand.

strbbux - Ah my friend - tis the core of my soul - all things stem from there,
but manys the crooked and mistaken trail one walks.  We can only try,
and in trying, try not to deny the truth.  I truly appreciate and feel your
words, dear lady, but when I look around at all the wonder souls walking
this earth, I know I have a long road ahead of me.

Mistletoe Angel - You always bolster ones confidence, my friend, in a very special way. Thank you.

Ivy Rose - Kindred spirits often spontaneously sing the same tune, dear friend.
                walk easy...j

I love it!!! I think that everyone who believes in God at some point questions what you question. It may be an "idealistic view", but it's still excellent!

A very honest write, which is more than what some would be with themselves. Some proclaim to be this way and refuse to see that they're not.He died for us because he knew we weren't perfect and not expected to be.Thanks for sharing yourself with us.
