...sorry Slick, I tried...j.
I Only Wanted To Write A Love Poem

I only wanted to write a love poem,
to say something I've never said before,
to say in words those things unsaid in breathless moments
of passion unrestrained.
I didn't want to use the same old words,
in the same old way as all the times I've said, I love you, before.
I didn't want to look in your eyes, touch your hand,
feel the warmth of breath as your lips touched mine.
I didn't want to stand so close I couldn't speak,
or move away, or catch my breath;
I didn't want to swirl my soul around your heart
until God Himself couldn't tell us apart.
I only wanted to write a love poem.
to tell you things I've never said before;
I only wanted to write a love poem,
and lay it by the bedroom door.

Ah James ... and what a wonderful love poem you "did" write, and well indeed. Very much enjoyed these beautiful sentiments.

Best wishes,
/Kit

Thanks all of you, very much...I actually DID close the bedroom door and slide this half under it for my wife to discover when she came home for work.  She was quite happy to do so, too.
