Angels Have It Rough

Sometimes they're familiar faces we've known throughout our lives
They've been known to be the strangers that pass us by
To no surprise they could even be that very child of ours
For, they are the few that God's chosen to fly...

It's those who's hearts were touched with the unfair winds
They are the ones who serve the almighty plan
For, they sometimes hide their identity far within the weak
And, sent here just to see who will extend their hands...

It's that old man who wanders aimlessly around his lonely home
Just holding onto memories that death has left behind
Nothing really physical remains of loved ones he once treasured
He's the angel with no boundaries now that he survives...

It's that little girl who is burdened with sadness beyond belief
So full of pain yet still finds the strength to laugh
The little girl who may never grow to know the world as it is
She's the angel who hides her illness with a baseball cap...

It's that woman who took those wedding vows to heart
Didn't know bruises were exchanged for unconditional love
It's common to find her on the other end of hurting hands
She's the angel who wears sunglasses just to cover it up...

It's the young boy who's pride lies within strong beliefs
Becoming a man and venturing out on his own
And, fighting for his country and paying the price to be free
Is that angel, true angel, who never made it back home...

It's not always enough to believe that they might be saved
For, sometimes even angels have it rough these days
But, we all must stand for something or we'll surely fall
For, a little compassion must lie somewhere in us all...

Saunni, I pray you are right!  Great writing on this one.

Saunni,
this is almost angels with human guises and yes they have it rough.

Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind.  Unknown

(sigh) Oh Saunni, I couldn't agree with you more, I believe we all should follow our dreams and hopes once we all gain wisdom from our loved ones then work to offer our love and compassion to the world in one way or another for the sake of God! (kiss on cheek) God Bless You, sweet friend, this is so very touching, we all love you so much, you are a true angel to us all! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Saunni, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton
