Corn bread

Cooked in an iron pan
crunchy crust and moist center
smells like heaven on earth

Biscuits

Buttermilk delights
Made in an ancient wood bowl
Mixed with loving hands

Beans

All are good to me
Cooked slow but not too mushy
Served so many ways

Greens

Wash them well and clean
Taste better after a frost
Splash of vinegar

Thanks for the kind comments.I like the idea of taking common things and adding a bit of insight. We are too often quilty of not noticing the poetry in the simple things in our lifes.
