Each one of us has had a broken heart
Each one of us has shed the scalding tears
That fall when our true loves from us do part
And no one's there to calm our pains and fears.
With torn and battered soul, we day to day
Attempt to piece our heart back once again-
Love's lessons we have learned the hardest way
And now we live with searing pain within.
How can we give our broken heart to love
When only pain is given back to us?
Where is our gentle angel from above
Where is the one who always will love us?
The pain of lost love never seems to leave
And broken hearts forever seem to grieve.

your words are so beautiful and you really convey a feeling of sadness yo the reader with this. this is wonderful, thanks for posting this.

Elizabeth, I can relate to this sooo well! Like you say, we've all had our hearts broken and they never completely heal, do they? Great piece here, thanks for sharing.
