STANDING AT STUD!

OK, so it all started out
as a story about horses in general,
while perusing pretty catalog pictures of

Award Winning studs!

and what it costs to breed them
to your prized mare.

But after three glasses of wine
(and being alone on New Years Eve!)
WHINE.. WHINE.. WHINE..!

What did you expect?

Sometimes I look at these magazines
and wonder about the wild horses of Mongolia
(my kind of critter)
prancing in all their natural glory,
oblivious to the ratings,
and that's when I know the true meaning of

HORSE.

So please,
bare with me
(LOL, insert pun here)

just give me the wild ones,
the natural studs who won’t stand
for the glossy photo op scenes.

Ok, this is a good poem. Now were you drunk when you wrote it? lol, just asking because most people don't usually put "lol" in a poem as one of its lines...

But seriously, I kinda liked this poem. It's nice and cynical, and you should know by now how much I like cynicism in poetry!

Since I'm not most people, it didn't even occur to me that LOL didn't belong in the poem. LOL. Thanks, your reply made me laugh. No, not from a drunken state... that's too brutal to the body.
I just get tired of pageantry.
