I broke off
the pack

and floated south

   and like all icebergs
I
melted
and joined
with other icebergs

        swirling
      leaving
         currents
     and doldrums

always heading
south

        checking my
   old
       yellowed
            stained
       seachart

I see
   I think
I am about 3 to 5 miles away

from my equator

I've been lucky thus far
I know some 'bergs that got swept off course

up onto some beach
or
stuck
down in a trench

but not me
no
I am still floating along
holding hands and
sharing temperatures

but the equator
is hot
I hear
makes you notice
I
am not worried
just
just
was thinking about it

and like most icebergs
I'll just
mosey on past it
without knowing exactly when
and head on down
to the other pole
(the other pack)
when I get stiff
  and cold
and don't move so nimbly anymore

or maybe
     tomorrow
I will find
a nice white sandy
    island beach
to bump into

      and forget about
migrating
to my
     cold
        end

I hear the beaches in New Orleans are lovely

such a unique clever write poet sir...
a most unusual and creative perspective to write from.

You're going to hear my voice in the morning calling your name ...
and know my love and my desperation were one and the same.

Bri . . .

I was about to toss you a rope
but your doing just fine
*wink*
but you know that

this sounded like me:

up onto some beach
or
stuck
down in a trench

and then the other me:

but not me
no
I am still floating along
holding hands and
sharing temperatures

you are getting a nice tan floatin' along there . . . toss me a postcard, k?
Just so I know what it is like

WOW!

I love this, and I am sure that you could find a few of us lost souls to float along with you!
