so string the lyre again
and pluck notes to waft sweet
on this stargazed night
that the melody
in tonal resonance might soothe
this the furrowed brow
of concern

would your hands moved across my back
the same way they move across your intent
and that mine might write new noted
on the soul of each song

I hear the call to prayer
and must dutifully face east
turning my back on thoughts
of lust and wonder

Did Allah not know love?

Play for me...
  sweet incense throated melody

and tell me how the prophets spoke

but show me in this dusk
the feel of musk and silk
of wine and skin
devoured in repast of desire

sing my captured bird
the songs of us.

OH good grief..........
who could deny you anything after reading this???

"not I" said the moth

"How could I stand here with you and not be moved by you."

Holy cow (haha, no pun intended), I don't think I've ever wanted to know how to sing so bad!  *laughing*     What a little masterpiece you have here.

You know you're doing a great job when the reader can smell the incense and musk, and feel the silk.  There are some lines that I particularly enjoyed:

"would your hands moved across my back
the same way they move across your intent
and that mine might write new noted
on the soul of each song"

whew!

and:

"Play for me...
  sweet incense throated melody"

Very very nice, you are such a treat to read.
