This is a translation of a russian poem by Andrei Voznesensky. Hope you like it!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I’m Goya!
On the barren ground,
a raven gobbled down my eyeballs gorily.
I’m worry.
I’m the voice of
The war; the debris of cities
destroyed in the snows of the early forties.
I’m drought.
I’m the throat
Of the woman hanged, whose barren body
continued to beat like a church-bell, gnawing.
I’m Goya!
O, Grapes
of Wrath! With passion, I heaved to the West
the ashes of guests unwanted!
The stars that I nailed into memorial skies continue
glowing.
I’m Goya!
