I came to hospital to sleep
I'd have done better on the wharves
The beds are really short, not sweet
I think they're made for dwarves

The beds are also narrow
Made for Barbie or for Ken
And it chilled me to the marrow
To think I might fall off and then…

The nurses come around
Every hour or so
Say to you, "be sleeping sound"
But just won't let you go

They stick things in your ear
And clamp things on your finger
I think it's really clear
They don't want you to linger

The monitors keep beeping
It really is quite trying
If I said that I'd done sleeping
You know I would be lying

Annoyed by nurses dear
To add to my confession
They only tried to keep me here
I'm in the wrong profession

The people in white gowns
Stare across the way
All look the same except for frowns
And patience with the time we play

So home again to sleep
I guess this never ends
My well being in their keep
I made a lot of friends.

Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind.  Unknown

Keth darling sister of my heart of course they wanted to keep you there, duh how silly can you get. YOU are the best entertainment they had.

Keth my dearest sister dear
They wanted to keep you always near
And so they did their best you know
To make you the prize winning show
The tricks with probes and other things
Are designed to make their laughter ring
Don’t you worry sister of my soul
I’ll make sure they return you whole
Soon when you come back home
That’ll teach you to n'er more roam

Wonderful writing darling girl utterly utterly wonderful

You do know I love it don't you? Good I do

Love and warm stuff
As always
Mushy

I am a very BAD patient--picture this--January...cold snap..and ME...lugging my iv on wheels outside to smoke a cigarette.. in the freezing cold!  tsk tsk tsk... (and then they give you stuff to knock you out and keep waking you! grrrr...can't tell you how many times I've walked out of hospitals!) Loved this!

Came back to add that this reminded me of an old joke:

A guy goes to the doctor in despair, "Doctor, help me, please, I think I'm shrinking!"

The doctor replied, "Well, you'll just have to be a little patient!"

GROAN...

LOL@Serenity!

Kethry...it is reasurring to know that hospitals and the staff are the same around the world.  They sure are not a fun place to go when you're sick!   Well....maybe in Serenity's case!

Good fun read....enjoyed!

I don't like hospitals either but I'm glad they are there!

I loved the humor in this one, Keth...
Hospital beds are specially made for those of us who are little.....they fit me just fine, but the only thing I like about them is that I can get waited on hand and foot.
The problem comes with being waited on in all the places in between. LOL
Another great write

Keth, Very humorous slant on a sometimes not so funny situation. Always good to be able to laugh at oneself. This is cute. Hope all is well and nothing serious. Cheryl
