Like a sea nymph
rising above glossy waves
of satin, her siren's song
wooed lusty sailors, young men
walking along moonlit beaches.

The years have streaked
her raven-black hair
with gray, flecked
her fair skin
with spots of brown,
rounded and plumped
her slender figure.

As she lies alone
beneath satin sheets,
she remembers when nights
seemed much too short,
when hours were lost in the arms
of an impassioned lover.

An eternity
has passed her by...
her siren's song
no longer entices
unwary sailors,
naive young men
to swim in her satin seas.

(smiles) Ooohhhhhhhh...this is soooooo beautifully sensual and surreal, sweet friend, you paint such lovely visions of sirens and sailors and the sea in your breathtaking visions! (sigh) I love the sea, the waves shimmered like satin just envisioning it! (kiss on cheek) We all love you so much, sweet friend, this is gorgeous! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Ivy, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

Ivy Rose - a sailor once was I. The smoothness of this poem, perhaps like your satin sheets... And grey flecks must be striking. Very nice write...

This is very stunning poetry, Ivy, close to my heart in the description of the
images you've portrayed.

Ivy Rose, now darn it. I have never seen a sea nymph that didn't attract me. I think every single one is simply beautiful. Tell her to mail me.

Sensually magnificent. No matter the age of the flesh the Sea Nymph is timeless youth within her memories. I love this poem, Ivy. **big hugs**

Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams.
