Face
The day
In coldness chill
Pitching smile kisses
Across the gray green
fading grass
Morning misty
ghosting breath

Step up to the plate
Hit home the spinning
Rush of love
Saving it all up

Tossing through
the windshield
He’s grinning
In reverse
Backing out
Knocking over
Garbage cans
Laughing
Catching my love

Sighing
From the enamour
Of a well spent night
Still lingering
When he leaves
For the day

I need him
To Be that way

Hello Regina

It's so nice to see you again.  As always you weave your words like magic.  This was wonderful and so very much enjoyed.

What a great lighthearted poem! I like how you put it in the form of a ballgame...it's a refreshing outlook on the subject of love!

And he needs to be this for you.  I so related to this poem.  It says 'happy to be who we are' to me but then I can be strange sometimes.  Anyway you meant it, I liked it!

You know this reminded me of several scenes from the movie, "When A Man Loves A Woman" I hope you saw it Regina, as the love in this and acceptance of small things to be amazed at is at least my definition of true love, and you penned it so well.

I loved it the first time and love it still.
I have missed your work, lately.

Thank you all so much for such wonderful response to this little ditty. It just warms my heart to share with you all. Wish I had more time to do so as my muse is starting to kick and scream at me! Just know that each of you make me smile so large my ears touch in the back!

So sorry to miss your wonderful words as well. Will catch them like fireflies one eve!

Love Peace and Poetry.
