Hard Back, Soft Front

Stress, hardship plague our day
Anxiety tears at our nerves
Seems we cannot share with life
The calmness that it deserves

Armor must be a part of us
Shield against the pain
To block the hurt of treachery
Hard back we must maintain

Razor blades of emotions
Slash the softest heart
This edge we must temper
If soft front would impart

We must balance both extremes
Yet let love be our guide
Brush off that which does offend
Hold tight to good inside

(sigh) Soooooo very well-said, sweet friend, love must always be our guide and what we believe in, but we also must always wear our armor over our chests to face justice and truyth when there is unfairness!
