In Your Poetic Mind

0 posted 2002-01-04 12:45 PM

There is a storm deep within
My torn heart, thunder echoes
When I bask in reflection,
My battered heart
Reveals confession
On bended knees I fall,
Winds of time have
Altered my direction
What once was blue
Is now grey and black
I have felt passion
Upon wanting lips
And now stand
In my own devastation,
No need to tell lies
We all suffer truth
Just pretend you need me
With memories I thought
I would never find
I now stand as most,
Looking for feelings that will
Never be, and reaching for a time
That never existed
Still the river runs

*****

Tomorrow's another day
and I'm thirsty any way
so bring on the rain

Greeneyes - I felt this one also, as Startime did. You are an excellent poet, and can put into words what one feels inside. A gift it is...

So many of us can connect with this, sweet friend.  We've all made mistakes, taken the easy way out, "settled" and chose not to take a chance, chase a dream, to be a risk taker.  It's called "life" and we live it as we must.  You've done well with this poem.  You made me think and I'm sure you've done the same with others.  It is most certainly one of you best works that I've been privileged to read.  *hugs* Lauren and keep the words flowing.

(big hugggssssssss) Oh Lauren, this is so so sad but beautiful, I know just how you feel, for I believe emotionally we are always battered every now and then, but the river of truth will always wind, and you will find passion to joy and dreams bound to come true! (kiss on cheek) We all love you so much, sweet friend, this is by far one of your best yet! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Lauren, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

Very accurate title-- this one does evoke

"still the river runs"

Oh, Lauren, this is absolutely soft and melancoly.  Thank you for this one.

My perception of truth will somehow never quite be the same..and so I write.
