Whips and chain
Can drive insane
But of one thing I'm sure
You'll be destroyed
Or by love buoyed
When tied to Lilith's lure

Siren song
Has call so strong
At least it has a cure
Yet held by night
Screams of delight
Bow down to Lilith's lure

Over earth
In death or birth
In hearts both dark and pure
You will be riven
When you have striven
And lost to Lilith's lure

The mermaid fair
Cries in despair
Her song upon the moor
She won't compete
And in defeat
Accedes to Lilith's lure

From dawn of time
In every clime
Her seed is spread in spoor
And womankind
Is sure to find
The joy in Lilith's lure

Lilith… queen
Of passion's dream
Offers lust and more
Though night goes on
Those near and yon
Succumb to Lilith's lure

Through every age
In fool or sage
She traps in sweet amour
Her loins in heat
Can still heartbeat
In bliss to Lilith's lure.

Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind.  Unknown

And she wouldn't lie down for Adam, so I'm told.

Yep..I like this. I use this name as an e-mail because once I tried to use it as a writing alias because a good poetic friend of mine suggested that the name could fit the Dark Seductress picture I was going for.LOL! Imagine lil ole me in the Dark Seductress role, eh? Nope..doesn't fit. Even Temptress has an innocent ring to it when associated with the me that people know best. anyways.. Umm..the name..it didn't work. I wrote two poems, then couldn't grasp the mood of Lilith, so I gave up. You have done much better than I could ever have hoped to with this subject. I love it!

For all who watch.Dare you say hello? Come in and ask the questions that are on your mind, but spare me your judgement until you truly sipped of me.

Kethry, your poetry just flows, and this one is beautiful. I am not familiar with Lilith. floria

Keth darling sister of my soul and holder of my hearts song, darling girl I really love this poem it is UTTERLY utterly dreamy a fabulous little write with layers of meaning again. YOUR writing lately is superb darling girl just superb

And I suppose you think this is clever do you? Mmmmm I mean how many times must I say this, just because you can write like this doesn’t mean you have to darling heart. Remember that and stop this ceaseless out distancing me

Who was Lilith who was she?
Was she a seductress? Hmm maybe
Did she lure travellers all unaware?
Was that Lilith with that wild hair?
Lilith, Adams first wife flew away
She had good reason I’ve heard say
She wasn’t meek and not very mild
And not keen to be big with child
Now most ask Lilith who was she?
And carried on a breeze said quietly
Lilith was a seductress well maybe

I forgive you, and yes it’s lovely you know it is, now stop doing it or I’ll have to send the boys round. Stevie and Roger volunteered, but I don’t know if they’ll beat you, they both have soft hearts I know I checked them, and what fun it was too. Just stop writing the good stuff and I won’t have to do a thing Wicked grin

Love and warm stuff
As always
Mushy

There is no cure
for Lilith's lure
your poem made this clear,
that's for sure!

I really enjoyed this one, Keth!

You really captured her well, Keth...
I wonder what she would be doing if she were alive today...Maybe she is alive today!
