Their eyes connect from across the room
But quickly they look away
The love was forbidden
She felt his presence near her
She wanted to reach for his hand but did not
Because the love was forbidden
Her smile warmed his heart
Her laughter was his sweet melody
He longed to reach for her
But the love was forbidden
They were so close
Yet so far away
From happiness, from completeness
Yet the love was forbidden
Just for a moment she wanted to break the laws
And fall into him
Was such a thing wrong?
Why was the love forbidden?
The longing never stopped
But still he went to another
The love would always be forbidden
And with a heavy heart
She did the same
Before the forbidden love turned bitter

J.K,
you pen the ideas of forbidden love very well.

Very nice JK, kind of sad, as I am feeling sorry that it was forbidden and they could not meet. nice. floria

This is an incredible poem.  I don't think I've read you before, I really enjoy your style of writing.
At this moment I am working on a poem, which begins very much the same.  Yet ends exactly opposite.  And that made me like this all the more.  They could almost be mismatched bookends.

Today is a gift.
That's why it's called the present!!

this was well written about forbidden love!
I don't think anyone should forbid two lovers to be together, it just might make them rebellious! Like Romeo and Juliet
