Come Dance Darling

Come dance with me darling get up on the floor
Match my movements darling let your spirit soar
Hold me closer darling cradle me to your hips
Wrap me in music darling brush me with your lips
Come dance with me darling sway now with me
You shall find darling the music flows through me

Come dance with me darling get up on the floor
Feel me moving darling don’t you want some more
Sway with me darling can’t you feel this beat
Let’s do the rumba darling give in to this heat
Come dance with me darling waltz me into night
You shall find darling we can ripple with delight

Come dance with me darling get up on the floor
Hold me in your arms darling twirl me evermore
Come tangle with me darling entwine me into you
Lets tango together darling lets try a step or two
Come dance with me darling dance me until I drop
You shall find darling you’ll never want to stop

Marsha

This is very song like...the repetition of darling brought to mind, "Grace Darling"--a legend that I admittedly would not have heard of if an old friend had not taken that as a stage name here in New Orleans. But I know that YOU know the legend.

Thanks for the read and the dance Marsha!

This is lovely, Marsha, really.

One question if I may, why is the text so small

My perception of truth will somehow never quite be the same..and so I write.

Great flow throughout the piece!  I loved it.  Hey I don't know how to dance too well but I'll try.

Uh, ah, may I have the next dance?
Either a tango or a waltz will do nicely

Very beautifully written, Marsha....and with just the right amount of heat added.
You wrote it so well, that I can almost hear the music starting.

Serenity darling girl thank you, yes naturally I know the story of Grace Darling. My sisters always used to tease me, if it wasn't chanting Beverley's into devilry which used to drive me crazy. (Mainly because I refused to even answer to Beverley), it is my fourth name but I don't use it. They would compare me unfavourably with Grace Darling. Then there was my younger blonde and thicker sister who used to chant... say your Grace before eating your Marsha mellows.... I didn't say it was an amusing story, no one who knows Fran has ever confused her with being particularly bright.

Anyway I'm glad you enjoyed it. I did too

Kathleen darling girl, because I can't make it any bigger smile

Truly a long time ago someone complained about the text being small and I resolved that as soon as I found out how to make it bigger I would.

I'm glad you like it darling girl, I enjoyed writing it.

Although it did need some editing and my friend Bill assisted there. (Well, actually he did a lot, thanks Bill)

Marsha you could dance awaymoonlight with the music in your write.
And the font... you can make it bigger by clicking on the box next to the font type and justification. If you do it before the poem it will set the size for the whole thing.

Keth.

Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind.  Unknown

Bill darling boy if you're asking I'm dancing. smile

Seriously though darling boy thank you for the help with this one you know better than anyone how it got the rhythm, since you put it there.

And whats a dance without the right music, it's a bit like trying to Waltz to a Rumba, or Tango to Cha-cha, it doesn't move right. Thank you muchly
