I’m Not An Angel I’m not an angel in any way, as you know My body is too caught up in passion’s flow I prefer to enjoy the earthly pleasure here To experiencing divinity be it ever so near Maybe if I wasn’t so wedded to sweet delight I would be keener to say my prayers at night But I prefer to speak to HIM through my day And show HIM praise in everything I do or say I’m not designed to be eternally good as gold I’m more into seeking someone warm to hold It’s not that I don’t believe I should be good But I find it too hard to be all that I should I’m not an angel who seeks out angelic deeds You know I’ll be dealing with passions needs Besides why should I try to be other than me? I don’t believe in pretending that I’m saintly I’m not into saintly pure thoughts at all I tend to respond more to fires fevered call Saintly and good aren’t the words that fit me I’m more a wench who flares often heatedly I suspect that if I tried to follow the pure way That no one would take me seriously anyway Everyone knows whom I am and what it is I do And I prefer me like this, tell me don’t you? Bill darling boy thank you I don’t think I could change the heart of me. I am only what I am, nothing more and nothing less. I tried to be different but it never felt right so I let the me of who I am shine forth. I’m happier this way And yes I’m aware that you believe in the same creed too.
