A spirit angel appeared to me.
Upon her descent,
I heard cloudbells ring.

She came to deliver me
from the sounds of regret,
the sounds, the aches that
nibble away quietly around
the base of my soul,
as evil ripping through
a quiet calm.

This holy blend of ivory
promise stood before me
and I begged, oh, how I begged
to please release me,
take me back.
So that I may do it over again.

When she left, oh, it rained
very gently at first.
It felt fresh and pure.
I was consoled as though covered
by freesia and soft heather.

I was going to have peace of mind
at last.

But I do not.

She was an angel, I am a woman
asking.
Still, she could not, no one can, no one
can wash away
regret.

Emily

Emily, forgiving yourself and loving yourself will wash it away, as will the Love of God..He will wash away your regrets.I believe in angels, but I believe more in the Love of God. This is a very heartfelt poem. floria

emily - we all have regrets of one degree or another, but it is up to ourselves to drop them and leave them behind in the dust. Very interesting read. Enjoyed. Chris

==================================

this is an achingly beautiful write..
youve created a clever mix of "heaven and hell" in this imagery, emotive and ethereal piece.
And the cloudbells image is fresh and unique.
I relate to the regret and angst of this...
sometimes self forgiveness is harder to accept than the divine.
Well done poetess Emily...good to see you posting again.
take care,
jm
