To Still the Ache

The music was curved and golden
and it felt like art,
the kind you have to touch
before you understand it.

I would sing about it
along the river of each wandering,
and then one year I woke
and found my voice was a word
and it echoed my feelings,
vibrated in the core of my learning
and opened doors.

Inside one door was love
and it was like art that you have to touch,
my skin was alive with it,
like bees flying around a purpose,
oh, I wanted to sip nectar.

Then, when I found the perfect flower
and whirling to airborne sought
to capture it, drink it dry again and again,
I couldn’t fly
and was sick from all that honey.

Next time I was a flute
of perfect sweet pitched call,
waiting, waiting in the big day
with my sound reaching to cross the chasm
and for the lack of listening ear, falling.

So how could I still this ache to express
that wanted, wanted listening?
I thought that life would just stand still
and wait while I did my search,
checked all the pockets around me,
sniffed the air for curly clues,
and so you see
I ended up in the back room
stacked against the wall of doubtful.

Now, I listen to the harp because
it pleases me to see all those little notes
fall around me and bounce,
and if you understand why, I’m pleased,
but mostly, I just like to hear the sound.

(smiles) Oh my gosh, your heart hums a symphony of hope, sweet friend, each emotion has a sound I believe, and with the melodies we harken upon, we can always find the notes we need to carry on and embrace each day with faith and love! (kiss on cheek) I love it, sweet friend, this is a true classic! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Martie, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shin eupon you!

Love,

Sinfully beautiful, Martie...
I'm glad you like the sound of Lyra's harp.

Martie,  each poem of yours is so fascinating
to me..I am in awe of the words you are able
to put within. And the way it all comes
together...
