  A Sigh from The Crease

The window
warped and unwilling
drafts a piece of evening into the warm
and brings the fragrance of cloud

I sit with this small disturbance of air
thinking of its travel
through the pass that lets in magic

Its sound has long fallen
around the pine
past the cave where the brown bear sleeps
and the alder leaves have quieted
after the dance that took some twirling

There is just a touch of sweet coming
from a place unknown to this geography
and that is when listening passes
the reflection of my face in the glass
trying to search a dark that pushes me
Back into the room

And for just a minute I hear the breath
Of time coming from the crease
that has folded me into this life
for it opened again
just long enough
for me to hear you sigh

This is so pretty in a quiet kind of way.
I especially liked what you said,
when the listening passes and you see your reflection in the glass.

I think I'll start my library now.

I suppose we all have our creases in the fold,
or perhaps we're folded in the creases.  What's a little wrinkle anyway!
I so enjoyed your poem Martie, thank you.

Martie ... this has really touched me this morning. Incredible description. I could feel the twilight dimension opening as you slipped into the visions just beyond this reality and into the other. This is a dimension that I too, feel is always there and magically allows us to sneak into it ever so gently. This has become one of my favorites of yours, for the warm feeling it brought to my heart this morning, for I understand this feeling ... this experience, that you have described so perfectly. Thank you for this wonderful read Martie.

Best wishes,
/Kit

==================================

I knew when I saw the title this was gonna be classic Martie poetry..
Now see, -- this is what Im always talking about...the way your mind works... you take an ordinary moment that would have went unnoticed by most...and then turn it into pure poetry...
anyone else would just have felt the draft and cursed the "warped window" *L* ...but from you...and that draft of air sneaking in comes THIS!! Like I said...only you.
I could throw open my window and let in the 20 degree temps and I would just freeze my mothy butt off before I could write like this

I can't possibly improve or even add to the wonderful responses Kit and Janet Marie gave (though I do wish JM would keep her dang 20 degree temperatures to herself and quit sharing them with the deep south! LOL) I can only say I love the thoughts your mind ponders and the incredible poems that result... this is superb!
