Go Fly a Kite
By Larry Chadwick

I didn’t understand it,
Made no sense to me.
The sun wasn’t shining,
It was still as it could be.

The timing didn’t match,
I was sure it wasn’t right,
When my mother said to me,
Why don’t you go fly a kite.

Harry,
Hey...Welcome to Passions. Hope you love it here as much as I have. Thanks. I was pretty sure I wasn't the Lone Ranger here!

The best part is, it's still an option.

Nice one Larry C.

Larry - this is sweet. I remember my mom saying this to me, and I didn't have a kite!

Short, to the point and conjuring of youthful memories.  Also not the usual style or topic.  I like it.

Let's put the FUN back into Dysfunctional.

Bill,
Now that you mention it, I didn't have a kite either. Go figure.

Noah,
At least that is a possible explanation.

floria,
I knew I wasn't the only one! LOL

CondorSey,
Welcome to Passions. Hope you like this place as much as me. Thanks for your comments.

Zinsser,
Never met you. But glad you stopped by.

Larry darling boy, utterly utterly delicious, and very cute, rather like you dear boy.

As always you've written something that has me smiling and giggling again.

Come to think of it my mama told me the same thing, often. I did have a kite it was a beautiful thing in red and yellow, with the longest tail. It used to soar and fly beautifully. One of my sisters cut the tail off one day because I wouldn't let her fly it. I patched it up but it was never the same, a bit like life really.

Wonderful writing as always. I love it love it love it

Love and warm stuff
As always
Mushy

HAHAHAHAHA. I remember hearing that one more than once. But she never would buy me a kite! I had to make my own, and they never got far off the ground. Moms are mean.

Mushy,
See older is wiser, at least you seem wiser! Thank you very much. My kites weren't memorable like yours.

Kacy,
I've done that. Once we made one eight feet tall and got it to fly! LOL

Canuckster,
Yeah, what's with that?! LOL
