Taunting me,
from heaven's vault,
mock the stars,
of night's exalt.
Flaunting splendor,
jeweled ephods,
comes the night,
high priest of gods.
Reigning o'er
our mortal realm,
I kneel before,
night's overwhelm.
Partaking of
her sacrament,
I fear the night,
in sin, repent.
Within cathedral,
of star's light,
I cede control,
in welkin rite,
I cede control,
unto the night.

Hauntingly inviting. Enjoyed. Chris

It takes talent to capture your own individuality in writing.  You have done that, I've noticed, after reading several of your poems.  My comliments!
